How a gift to the Center for Global Change works
Aaron and Debbie Cuha, October 9, 2026. 2 min read.

The short version: give through PayPal, keep the receipt, and every dollar reaches Nepal. The longer version, for the questions people actually ask.
Who you are giving to
The Center for Global Change is a US registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, founded in 2008 by Aaron and Debbie Cuha. The EIN is 27-0371054. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent the law allows.
What 100 percent means
Every dollar you donate goes to the work in Nepal. Right now that means the family home we rebuild in March 2027. Aaron and Debbie pay every overhead cost personally: the trek, the flights, the hotels, this website, the email tool, all of it. None of that is taken from donations. That has been true since 2008.
How the money moves
Your gift lands in the Center for Global Change PayPal account, which Debbie holds. The rebuild is paid for from that account in Nepal, in March. After the house is built we post what it cost, line by line, against what came in.
Receipts
PayPal emails you a payment receipt the moment you give. Keep it. For any gift of $250 or more, we send you a written acknowledgment from the Center for Global Change, which is what the IRS asks for at that level.
Cards, PayPal accounts and monthly gifts
You do not need a PayPal account. The PayPal page takes debit and credit cards without one. A monthly option is there if you would rather give a little each month than a lump sum. Card payments by Stripe are coming to the donate page as well.
Does my employer match?
Many do. Search your company's matching gift portal for "Center for Global Change" or the EIN above. If we are not listed yet, send us the form through the contact page and we will complete it.
Year end
A gift dated on or before December 31 counts for that tax year. PayPal's receipt carries the date.
If you raise more than the house costs
It stays in Nepal, for the next family in the same villages who lost a home in the flood, and we will say so here when it happens.
If something here does not answer your question, write to us. Debbie reads every message.
